In 2014, Wilsons fame exploded across the pond in a more prominent way after she was cast on Showtimes The Affair as Alison Lockhart an unreliable young woman who has a past of dark that falls in love with the husband of her dreams, Noah Solloway. Wilson won a Golden Globe award for Best Actress for a Television Series Drama, alongside Mauratierney and Joshua Jackson. Wilson in an interview with British Vogue during the year 2015, said that she enjoyed being able to play characters with two different viewpoints. Noah thinks Alison is this confident, sexy and reckless self-image. She sees her own self in a totally different way. From the inside she's not sure and is looking to be a part of the background. The actress said that she believes America has become so moralistic, and so judgemental that events on this show seem shocking. Wilson quit the show, which was a shock to viewers. But Wilson did not provide further details. It was my intention to quit, but I'm not allowed to talk about why she stated in a CBS This Morning interview in August 2018. Wilson is now focusing on film. She was in the horror film I Am the Pretty Thing who lives in the house in 2016 and then in the sci-fi romance How to Talk to Girls on Parties as the mysterious PT Stella. Adding more of the genre of horror to her film credits she is set to be a part of the British film adaptation of The Little Stranger a supernatural thriller that is based upon the novel written by Sarah Waters. Wilson is also the producer of the film.
